
Sultan Kudarat’s KAPE DULANGAN receives HALAL Certification
TACURONG CITY, Philippines — KAPE DULANGAN, a native coffee produced by the Sultan Kudarat Coffee Ventures, Inc., received its “CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY HALAL ASSURANCE” from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) based in Central Mindanao region.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!DOST certified that SKCVI of Barangay Malegdeg in Senator Ninoy Aquino (SNA) town in Sultan Kudarat province has been assessed and found to be compliant with the Unified Global Halal Standards (OIC/SMIIC 1:2011) – General Guidelines on Halal Foods) and other statutory and regulatory requirements in the manufacture of the product “KAPE DULANGAN.”
It certifies also that “sufficient samples randomly selected representing the batch of each of the foregoing product were tested in DOST XII Halal Laboratory and found and quality assured to be Halal.
The certificate was signed by Regional Director Dr. Zenaida P. HR Laidan of the DOST in Central Mindanao region, popularly known as “Region 12.”
The SKCVI also received recognition from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for its “best greening practices” as a coffee producer.
Now that KAPE DULANGAN is halal certified, it may have the chance now to circulate in the global market.
During the opening of the SNA’s 12th COFFEE FESTIVAL last February 3, 2020, farmers producing the KAPE DULANGAN were interviewed by Mr. Ferdinand Cabrera of Manila-based GMA Network. They were accompanied by SNA Mayor Randy Ecija Jr.
Mayor Randy Ecija Jr. of SNA, Sultan Kudarat explained to GMA reporter Mr. Ferdinand Cabrera about his “free coffee” program for the local tourists during the period of the town’s festivity, which will culminate on Feb. 17, the 31st Foundation Anniversary of the locality. (RAMIL BAJO)
