Mayor Ecija says “LGBT members deserve to be loved and cared”

CENTRAL MINDANAO, Philippines — Mayor Randy Ecija Jr. of Senator Ninoy Aquino (SNA) town in Sultan Kudarat expressed support to calls for “love” and “care” for the members of the LGBTQIA (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual).

In his reply to the question of The DIYARYO MILENYO why he is expressing support to the LGBT community, Mayor Ecija said because “they deserved to be loved and cared.”

But Mayor Ecija stressed that he “cannot support the same-sex marriage.”

He also believed that “a core principle of human identity is respect for the dignity of others and equality of rights for all.”

Mayor Ecija urged LGBTQIA members to walk and stand with pride. (RAMIL BAJO)
