PH Emergency Hotline 911, nakapagtala ng 2.54M Prank Calls nitong 2019

Nanawagan ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa publiko na iwasan ang palagiang pag-dial sa emergency hotline 911 sa bansa kung hindi naman ito emergency.

Ayon sa ulat na nakalap nang DIYARYO MILENYO, nasa 2.54M prank calls ang natanggap ng 911 sa nakaraang taong 2019.

Batay sa datos ng DILG sa nakaraang taon, nasa 18.4 million calls ang kanilang naitala at 2.54M dito ay “fraudulent, hoax, or prank calls” lang.

Samantala, 37,440 dito ay legitimate na tawag ang seryosong dumulog sa kanilang tanggapan. 16,763 naman ang non-emergency at 9.7M naman ay incomplete calls. Bagama’t ang ibang tawag na kanilng natatanggap dito ay disconnected at drop calls lamang dahil sa pang-didistorbo ng mga caller na pasaway at ginagawang katatawanan o libangan ang pag-dial sa Emergency Hotline 911.

“We are urging the calling public to practice discipline in making 911 calls…which is for legitimate emergency and public safety purposes only,” saad ni DILG Sec. Eduardo Año.

Dahil dito, dapat na maipractice ng bawat indidbiduwal ang kahalagahan ng paggamit o pagpindot sa emergency hotline digits  sapagkat sa mga kalokohang magagawa ng mga taong pasaway hindi natin patid na may buhay na posibleng mawala dahil lamang sa walang disiplina sa paggamit ng telepono higit ang concern emergency digits para sa tuloy-tuloy na serbisyo publiko ng ahensya at nang 911.
