The starter kits were turned over to the beneficiaries on February 28, 2020 in time with the CBRP culminating activity and graduation rites for the latest batch of persons who used drugs (PWUDs).

The project is under the Integrated Livelihood Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) facilitated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the city government.

The provision of livelihood assistance for the rehabbed PWUDs is DOLE and PESO’s convergence initiative to the CBRP.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office assisted in identifying the names of the skilled beneficiaries.

The majority of the beneficiaries received welding machines and air compressors for their welding and vulcanizing projects.

Mayor Angelo Montilla and DOLE Sultan Kudarat Field Office Head Mary Jane Hoksuan led other officials in the distribution of the starter kits.

The CBRP is handled by the Office for City Health Services, while the after-care program falls under the responsibility of the CSWDO.

According to CBRP Focal Person for Health Riza Abejero, there are currently 707 identified PWUDs in Tacurong and 278 of them have completed the latest four-month rehab program. (ASFreno/PHOTO CREDIT TO LGU TACURONG CITY Information)
