SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines — Dozens of foreign and locally-bred pooches of every shape and size invaded Norala town to participate in the 1st Dog Show in South Cotabato province held last March 7, 2020. That day, only dog people showed up. Cat people did not.

In a message posted in his Facebook account, Mars Jimenez Baylon, organizer of the said animal event and a dog lover too, said the dog show was a gathering of “man’s best friend” and showcasing of their talents.

Mr. Baylon said the participating dogs were from the municipalities of Norala, Tantangan, Polomolok, Surallah, Banga, and cities of Tacurong and General Santos. Dogs from Isulan, Sultan Kudarat also joined the show.

Mr. Baylon thanked Mr. Rex Arceo, Mr. Jeff Alac, Mr. Wewee Dinopol, South Cotabato 2nd District Rep. Dinand Hernandez, Norala Mayor Clemente Fedoc and SK Federation Chairwoman Shaira May Belascuain for supporting the dog event. (RAMIL H.
