ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Assistant District Engineer Alihar A. Mama (left) of the first district engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Sultan Kudarat province and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) vice-chairman Ghadzali Jaafar were good friends?
Yes, they shared “good moments” and “fruitful” discussions on Bangsamoro issues while Engr. Mama was an organizer of a foreign-based non-government organization (NGO) based in Central Mindanao region way back in 2000.
Engr. Mama considered Mr. Jaafar as his “mentor” and his “elder brother.” He described Mr. Jaafar a “warrior of peace” and a “great Bangsamoro leader.”
According to CNN Philippines report, Mr. Jaafar, 75, died in a hospital due to “complications in the abdomen” last year. (RAMIL H. BAJO/MINDANAO BUREAU)
