Executive cited police woman officer for honesty

MALUNGON, Sarangani — A daughter of a retired police couple that now serve as a Police Lieutenant in the local-based police station here received high commendations after returning a lost wallet containing more or less P32,000.00 in cash and valuable documents, Monday.

Constantino presented before the attending local government officials and LGU department heads, PLt. Jonie T. Ocampo who, together with her husband, Maj. Rey B. Ocampo of the Armed Forces, returned a lost wallet that they both found at the parking lot of SM Mall in nearby General Santos City late last week.
Mayor Constantino gave weight and recognition to the able honesty that the couple law enforcers have shown, while most others have shared fine reactions that despite of some negative reports about men in uniform, there are nevertheless a hip and greater part of truthful and respectable officers of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces who are there to serve even in various ways.
“Good deeds will leave a trail to the hearts of others. And I am raised to return things that are not mine,” stated the lady officer, who was also earlier granted with recognition by COP Lt. Col. Edgar I. Yago in front of the press and MIO personnel at the Municipal Police Station, here.
The lady Ocampo is a daughter to both retired PNP officers PMaj. Doroteo S. Tan and PSupt. Nilza P. Tan, who are also a long-time resident of the municipality.
Ocampo said she and her husband were just about to park their car when spotted a black-colored wallet with no identification at all, except for a receipt that was named to a certain John Tano. That after the efforts of locating its owner, it was successfully returned by means of friends links on ‘facebook.’
Presenting a plaque of appreciation before the presence of Mayor Constantino, Tano, who is a key personnel of the Summit Transport and Tours, said the personally-given accolade is a gesture of thanks and high appreciation for the honesty, integrity and all the efforts of Lt Ocampo in returning his lost wallet and other documents that are mostly of significant worth to him.
