MALUNGON, Sarangani Province (May 23, 2020) – Photograph shows a number of isolation rooms in Barangay JP Laurel that are being used as temporary houses to shelter the return of stranded persons from outside of the municipality.
These isolation rooms have been mushrooming in all over the 31 comprising barangays to suffice other government-owned facilities that are being used as temporary places to monitor the physical status of every individual that enters the municipality – to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the isolated villages.
As of this writing, LDRRMO and Municipal Administrator-designate Jessie Dela Cruz said, there are approximately 280 people that are undergoing the 14-day quarantine period in the locality, as part of the Mayor Maria Theresa D. Constantino-mandated E.0. 26.
They will be put under tight monitoring twice a day by protective gear-wearing BHERTS, until such time that they will be completely found negative of any virus symptom, and be allowed for home.
In line, members of the Association of the Barangay Captains (ABC) are being given the task to pick right at the border checkpoints (holding areas) the reported stranded personalities before entering the barangay to ensure that they will be given the precise action and – attention.
“Ginalutuan ug ginahatdan gyud namo na sila og pagkaon, and at the same time, ginasiguro namo nga ensakto ang ilang kahimtang suno sa mando sa amua ni mayora,” said one of the punong barangay during an MTDC routine inspection of the isolation fsacilities, over the weekend.
Constantino on the other hand, likewise extend warm recommendations to all of the barangay leaders for the untiring efforts in protecting Malungon, that despite of being Region-12’s front line of defense, remains to be a coronavirus-free municipality, up to this day.
She also makes mention about the implementation of the Balik Probinsiya Program, wherein 27,000 stranded people from the National Capital Region are now scheduled to be released back to their respective places, to be followed by another large number of more or less 42,000 OFWs by next week.
“We will prepare for the worst scenario to come… kung halin na sila sa Davao, diri gid na sila mag-aragi sa aton… Kailangan gid nga nakasulat sila sa aton nga contact tracing form,” the concerned local chief executive, stressed.
