SPECIAL REPORT: Paano nga ba nagsimula ang Katipunan sa Palanyag?

Ayon sa impormasyon na binigay ni Manuel Quiogue ang mga pangalan na nanguna sa Katipunan sa Parañaque ay sina Patricio Bernabe (Kalaunan ay naging Presidente Munisipal) at Santiago Inquimboy na naging “Agentes Especiales ni Andres Bonifacio”

Ayon rin sa isang impormasyon, matapos ang Sigaw ng pugad lawin noong Agosto 23, 1896 ay may isinagawang sikretong pagpupulong na ginawa ang Katipunan sa Parañaque. Ito’y pinangunahan nina, Heneral Pio del Pilar (1860-1931) “Alias Pang-una” at Jose Victor ng Bacoor Cavite.

Sa Paranaque, Ang Katipunan ay Pinangunahan ni Padre Pedro Dandan ang pamosong Katipunero ng Palanyag at masasabing Lokal na Bayani. Kasama niya sina Baldomero Raymundo, Alejandro Santa Ana at Pedro Cruz.

Ang mga taga Parañaque ay lumaban sa kalayaan. Kakaiba sa kinilos ng mga taga Paranaque noong British Invasion noong 1762 na makikita ang tagasunod pa ang mga taga-Parañaque sa pwersa ng mga kastila.

Sa Kasagsagan ng Rebolusyon, ang mga Katipunan sa Parañaque ay sumama sa pwersa ng Zapote line. Ito’y ang nagpahina sa pwersa ng mga kastila. Kaya noong Pebrero 1897 pinadalhan ang Gobernador Heneral Camilo Garcia de Polavieja ng karagdagang pwersa mula sa Espanya na may 15 Batalyon at may kabuuan na 21,000 na tropa. 4 na Batalyon na may bilang na 4,000 naman sa Military Infantry. Ito ang naging dahilan kung kaya noong Pebrero 14, 1897 ay ginawang Headquarters ni Heneral Polavieja ang St. Andrew ng Parañaque bilang Headquarters laban sa Katipunero ng Cavite.
