Road construction leading to Cotabato tourist destination resumes
June 25, 2020- The Department of Public Works and Highways XII- Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office is halfway towards completing the construction of a concrete road pavement leading to the Shrine of Holy Cross, a tourist destination in North Cotabato.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A total of Php69 Million is allocated to construct 2.491- kilometers of two- lane concrete road in the muddy and mountainous terrain of Brgy. Nueva Vida, Mlang.
Cotabato 2nd DEO, Kidapawan City implemented the first and second phases in 2018 and 2019 with allocations of Php43 Million and Php20 Million respectively. The Php 15 Million third and final phase which includes a 40- meter parking space is underway and implemented by the newly created Cotabato Sub- DEO. The project is expected for completion before the year ends.
The historic shrine is one of the most visited places in the province during Holy Week. Parts of Kidapawan City, Makilala, Mlang and Liguasan Marsh can be seen by devotees, hikers and tourists from the elevated location.
