
South Cotabato mayor shot dead while visiting his projects

STO. NINO, South Cotabato — Mayor Pablo “Abog” Matinong of Sto. Nino town of South Cotabato province was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding assassins before 8 AM today in a village here.
In an interview with Brigada 95.7 FM, Municipal Councilor Helen Fale, the mayor was shot in the head that possibly caused his instant death.
Councilor Fale said Mayor Matinong was in the said area to visit one of his projects there when shot dead by two gunmen riding in a plateless motorcycle.
“It’s always his routine to visit his projects before going to his office,” Councilor Fale said.
Police are still investigating the incident that caused shocks to the residents of Sto. Nino town. (Rashid RH. Bajo via DM-Mindanao Desk).
