Nakatakdang kilos-protesta sa darating na SONA ni Pangulong Duterte, hindi pagbabawalan

Hindi pagbabawalan ang nakatakdang kilos-protesta sa darating na ika-limang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na gaganapin sa Batasang Pambansa sa Lunes (Hulyo 27), ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Kinumpirma ito ng Alkalde sa Laging Handa virtual briefing na inere ng estado.

“Here in Quezon City, we will allow, to a limited extent, the demonstrations and protesters just because this has been the tradition for a very long time here in our city,” pahagay ni Belmonte.

“While coordinating with the Philippine National Police, we have come to the agreement dito sa National Capital Region Police Office at saka sa Quezon City Police District na papahintulutan ang demonstrations provided that may strict adherence sa Batas Pambansa 880.”

Protektado ng Batas Pambansa 880 (BP 880) ang pagtitipon-tipon upang maglabas ng saloobin, ngunit ito ay dapat hingan ng permit mula sa lokal na gobyerno at PNP ang mga magkikilos protesta. Saklaw din ng BP 880 ang mga ‘freedom park’ na kung saan maaring magsagawa ng mga programang may kinalaman sa kilos-protesta.

Ang tinaguriang lugar ay taun-taong ginaganapan nang mga kilos-protesta kung saan nagpapahayag ang Pangulo nang kaniyang mga nagawang adhikaing pagbabago para sa taumbayan, ekonomiya at bansa.

Laganap man ang nakahahawa at nakamamatay na coronavirus disease (COVID-19) sa bansa, hindi nito kayang pigilan ang protestang isinasagawa ng mga raliyista sa iba’t ibang lugar sa bansa gaya noong Mayo Uno at sa pagpapasa ng Anti-Terrow Law, ilan sa mga raliyista ay pinaghuhuli nang awtoridad kahit pa na sila ay sumusunod sa “social distancing” at gumagamit ng face masks sa naturang pagtitipon.
