12% VAT sa digital services hindi makabubuti sa mga consumer – BH Rep. Herrera

NAGPAHAYAG nang saloobin ang isang party-list lawmaker na hindi makabubuti sa mga consumer ang pagpataw ng 12% Value Added Tax (VAT) sa digital transactions o services.

Sinabi ni Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera-Dy na ang panukalang VAT ay ipapasa sa mga consumer kung saan magtataas ng presyo ang mga gumagamit ng digital and/or electronic platforms.

“Totally unacceptable at this time of economic uncertainty,” saad pa ng kongresista.

Aniya, malaki ang gampanin ng mga naturang online shopping platforms para sa mga consumer dahil isinusulong ng pamahalaan ang contactless transactions sa gitna ng pandemya. (Rex Molines)
