NPA member patay sa engkwentro, pinalibing ng barangay at 37th IB

PALIMBANG, Sultan Kudarat — Isang umanoy miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) na namatay sa isang engkwentro sa bayan na ito ang pinalibing ng mga opisyal ng isang barangay dito at mga tropa ng 37th Infantry Battalion (IB) ng Philippine Army.

Ayon sa report na natanggap ng Mindanao Desk ng DIYARYO MILENYO, namatay ang nasabing rebelde noong kasagsagan ng engkwentro sa gitna ng NPA at tropa ng 37th IB sa bulubunduking-bahagi ng Sitio Pleko ng Barangay Baluan sa bayan ng Palimbang noong July 26, 2020.

Ayon sa report, kinaladkad ng mga rebelde ang patay na katawan nito pero kalaunan dahil sa kabigatan at hirap ng terrain ng bundok, minabuti na lamang na abandonahin ang patay na nilang kasama.

Nakarekober naman ng ilang mga gamit ang mga sundalo sa naagaw nilang kampo umano ng NPA.

Sa press statement na ipinalabas ng Philippine Army, sinabi ni Lieutenant Colonel Allen Van Estrera, Commander ng 37th Infantry Battalion, na ang nasabing patay na bangkay ay “belongs to the West Daguma Front under Dennis Dulonan of the CTG’s Far South Mindanao Region.”

“The said communist group was responsible in recent weeks’ harassment of a military Patrol Base securing an ongoing road construction project in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. Some local residents in Brgy Baluan identified the dead communist terrorist member as Mondel Dulonan, who is a resident of Brgy Datu Wasay, Kalamansig.”

Ayon kay Abraham Abel, barangay chairman ng Baluan, ang pagpapalibing sa bangkay ng namatay na NPA isang makataong desisyon na sinuportahan ng 37th IB.

Kinilala ang nasawing rebelde na si Mondel Dulonan, kung saan residente ng Brgy Datu Wasay sa bayan ng Kalamansig.

Ayon sa report ng 37th IB, si Dulonan ay may “existing Warrant of Arrest for the crime of arson having been involved in the burning of eight heavy equipment in Brgy Hinalaan, Kalamansig in June last year together with other communist terrorists.”
