PRESS RELEASE: IMPLEMENTATION OF NFA-PALLGU PROGRAM
Koronadal City — The LGU City of Koronadal has allocated Five Million Pesos (Php 5,000,000.00) for palay Assistance program to the farmers of Koronadal City, wish to deliver their palay produced to the National Food Authority.
Under this program farmers who want to avail can deliver a minimum of 500 kg and a maximum of 2,500 kg clean and dry, hence corresponding of P2.00/kg additional incentive.
National Food Authority Region 12 would like to thank the City of Koronadal through City Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena, Vice Mayor Peter B. Miguel and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the additional P2.00/kg premium to the existing NFA support price of Php 19.00/kg for clean and dry palay through our Marketing Assistance for legislator and Local Government Units (PALLGU) program without buyback scheme.
The provision of such premium amounting to P5M contributed to the buffer stock procured palay in South Cotabato. This banner program of NFA was only implemented in Central Mindanao that may benefit more than 1,000 farmers, Miguel S. Tecson, Regional Manager, NFA Region XII, Tacurong City, said.
Moreover, NFA and NIA in accordance with their respective role in helping farmers have agreed to enter into the agreement to protect the plight of our food provider and ensure food security and sufficiency in time of calamities. (PRESS RELEASE / courtesy from Loi Mangayayam)
