NABATID na ng Department of Health (DOH) ang pang lima sa anim na mga kaso na infected ng Corona Virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) variant, B117.

Isa na nga rito ay ang 46 anyos na babae mula sa Pasay City na ina ng isang pasyenteng nagpostibo sa virus na nagtatrabaho sa Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3).

“The case tested positive on January 25, and is currently undergoing home quarantine,” pahayag ni Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire nitong Lunes.

Ang mga nagpositibo sa naturang new variant cases ay ang 20 anyos na babae mula Mountain Province, na nagpositibo matapos ang kanyang pre-departure test sa Metro Manila noong Enero 12; isang 37 anyos na lalaki mula naman sa Bukidnon na nagpositibo matapos ang kanyang training sa Metro Manila; isang 25 anyos na babae na residente ng Dasmariñas City, Cavite na ngayon ay naka isolate sa Central Luzon; at ang 47 anyos na babae na nakatira sa Las Piñas City na galing mula sa Morocco nitong Enero 12.

“The initial swab collected turned out positive and the case completed the required 10-day isolation. So, a second swab was done and the case tested positive so she was advised to continue isolating at home,” saad ni Vergeire patungkol sa huling pasyente.

Sinabi rin ng DOH na kanilang biniberipika ang isang 49 anyos na lalaki mula sa Rizal province kung ito ba ay returning overseas worker.

Patuloy ang pagsasagwa ng tracing para sa 19 B117 cases sa pangunguna ng DOH investigators na kanilang maaring ma-contact ang 107 individuals mula sa Davao, 12 individuals sa Mountain Province at may 50 individuals na kaso sa Ilocos Norte.

Sinabi ni Vergeire na sakabila ng pagsulputan ng variant na ito ay kanilang nilinaw na wala pa namang ebidensya ng community transmission ng naturang variant.
