DPWH–SK 1st DEO starts its 2021 Women’s Month celebration by holding its first flag–raising ceremony to honor the endurance of women in coping–up the challenges of pandemic

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat –– The Sultan Kudarat 1st District Engineering Office (SK 1st DEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) held its first flag–raising ceremony today in this time of pandemic to honor the women who are still bravely fighting to survive the serious challenges of the COVID–19.

The holding of the said first flag–raising ceremony in 2021 is part of the SK 1st DEO’s kick–off activity for this year’s Women’s Month celebration.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme: “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”

District Engineer Amer T. Pundag, MPA, Assistant District Engineer Alihar A. Mama and chiefs of the various sections of the SK 1st DEO led the flag–raising and the launching of several activities prepared by the district’s Gender and Development (GAD) team, reportedly headed by Engr. Marina P. Cognito.

After the flag–raising ceremony, Engr. Pundag reportedly delivered his “inspirational message” where he stressed the important role of women in nation–building and national development. (ABDUL CAMPUA)
