PNP–SKPMFC counters CTGs recruitment by holding “Kapehan sa Sitio” in remote communities in Sultan Kudarat province

TACURONG CITY, Philippines –– The PNP–Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (SKPMFC), headed by Lieutenant Colonel Hoover Antonio, is using “coffee” to combat the infiltration of “Communist Terrorist Groups” (CTGs) in remote areas in Sultan Kudarat province.
The SKPMFC troops have been roaming around in the remote communities in the province for the past several months conducting early morning “Kapehan sa Sitio,” where they are gathering residents for “heart–to–heart” talk over cups of coffee.
Last March 2 (Tuesday), the SKPMFC troops, together with 43rd SAC, 4th SAB, PNP–SAF, headed by Police Captain Amado Espina, went to Purok 6, Barangay Sinaukulay in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat to talk with the residents there.
In a press statement sent by the SKPMFC’s information officer Police Corporal Mary Eileen Bautista to DIYARYO MILENYO, it said the “Kapihan sa Sitio” is a counter measure activity of the PNP against the community–based recruitment of CTGs.
The so–called “coffee chat with residents” aimed to win their hearts and minds by “informing” them about the government programs that could help them and “educate” them about the value of living peacefully under the care of the government.
