PNP mas hihigpitan ang Travel boundaries

MANILA, Philippines — Sakabila nang tumataas na kaso ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) sa bansa, inilatag ng Philippine National Police ang mahigit 60 quarantine checkpoints sa Metro Manila at karatig probinsya para sa paghihigpit ng travel boundaries sa mga apektadong lugar doon.

Sinabi ni National Police Chief Debold M. Sinas sa isang televised meeting kasama si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nitong Miyerkules ng gabi na nakapag-deployed sila ng 3,652 na mga pulis sa bawat quarantine points.

Aniya, nakapagtala naman ang kapulisan ng mahigit 27,500 curfew violations sa Metro Manila mula Marso 15 hanggang Marso 23.

Dagdag pa ni Sinas, mahigit 1.5 million violations of minimum health protocols ang naitala mula Agosto 20, 2020 hanggang Marso 23 ngayong taon. Kadalasan ang naging mga paglabag ay ang hindi pagsuot ng face mask ayon pa kay Sinas.

Samantala, nagbigay pahayag naman ang former Dean ng University of the Philippines-Manila College of Medicine na si Nina G. Gloriani na kanilang nasisilip na ang coronavirus ay posible pang mag-mutate at maslalong magpalala ng infection dahil sa mabilis nitong pagtaas kada araw.

“Virus variants can be controlled if enough people — we put this at 70-80% of the population — are vaccinated and become immune to the virus,” saad ni Gloriani sa isang online news briefing. #DM
