Año, nagbabala sa mga Missing-in-Action na Mayors sa panahon ng kalamidad

MANILA, Philippines -- Nagbigay babala si Interior Secretary Eduardo Año kahapon, Martes [June 22] na maging responsable at handa ang mga Alkalde sa kani-kanilang mga nasasakupan para paghandaan ang mga paparating na kalamidad sa bansa gaya ng mga bagyo, lindol, pagguho ng lupa at pagbaha.

MANILA, Philippines — Nagbigay babala si Interior Secretary Eduardo Año kahapon, Martes [June 22] na maging responsable at handa ang mga Alkalde sa kani-kanilang mga nasasakupan para paghandaan ang mga paparating na kalamidad sa bansa gaya ng mga bagyo, lindol, pagguho ng lupa at pagbaha.

Aniya, kailangan na maging visible ang presensya ng mga local chief executives sa mga ganitong uri ng kalamidad at masiguro ang kaligtasan ng kanilang mga kababayan.

“Huwag maging missing in action sa panahon ng kalamidad,” saad ni Año.

Nitong nakaraang taon, naglabas ng cause orders ang Department of the Interior and Local Government laban sa sampung (10) Mayors na missing-in-action sa kanilang mga nasasakupan habang humahagupit ang Super Typhoon Rolly noong Nobyembre 2020.
