BARMM –– Dhar Haron, a registered nurse, proudly shared some photos two days ago, showing her father (in yellow) attending an Arabic lesson with Muslim kids listening to their teacher.

“Massha’Allah! My father attending his Saturday class in Arabic,” Ms. Haron proudly said in her facebook account.

“Masha’Allah” is an Arabic phrase that is used to express impressment or beautifulness for an event or person that was just mentioned (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashallah).

Ms. Haron said her father, a retired fireman, worked so hard to provide the family’s needs, like feeding and sending them to schools.

Of the man’s five children, four of them have already graduated.

“Si Arikosam na lang (hindi pa naka-graduate) our future engineer Inshallah!” Ms. Haron said.

“Inshallah” means “If Allah wills it” or “God willing.”

Ms. Haron said since the start of the class, “hindi nag-absent ang father ko,” which for her, clearly showed the man’s “strong determination” to learn Arabic.

“Now, na retired na siya, isa ito sa mga ginagawa niya. No absent pa yan since they started. Alhamdulillah, I love you ged Ama. Na–touch lang ako sa mga pictures niya. It’s never too late para matuto,” Ms. Haron said.
