After a disappointing finish from last game, the determined TNT Tropang Giga came out with a dominating fashion to etch a 115-98 demolition against San Miguel Beermen in Game 3 of their semifinal bout inside DHVSU Gym in Pampanga tonight.
R.R. Pogoy flared up with 26 points, three assists, and four steals, leading the TNT towards a comfortable 2-1 round lead while being two wins away from booking a trip to the 2021 Philippine Cup finals.
Poy Erram came up huge with a double-double of 21 markers and 13 assists, while first year man Mikey Williams blazed with his series high-20 points and five dimes to supply the primary support.
Bannered by Pogoy’s hot shooting performance, TNT tightened their grip in the whole game, led by as much as 22 in the start of the 2nd half.
SMB star backcourt CJ Perez and Terrence Romeo tried to lift their squad by trimming Tropang Giga’s deficit down to 15 in the 3rd period, 83-68, but the Chot Reyes crew pulled of and didn’t turn its head around for the remaining part of the duel.
Romeo went off with 22 points, 7 boards and two assists in a losing effort, while Perez and June Mar Fajardo had 14 points each.
