Kalandagan, Tacurong City- August 16, 2021Youths from the hinterland barangay of Ned, Lake Sebu recently denounced the CTG organization during the conduct of a 3-day IP Youth Leadership Summit orchestrated by 601st Infantry Unifier Brigade through 5th Special Forces Battalion from August 9 to 13, 2021 at Sitio Blit, Brgy Ned, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
The Indigenous People (IP) youths have been a haven for the communist terrorist group’s organizations (CTGs) to recruit new members of the armed revolution as they are the most vulnerable sector of deceptions, radicalization, and exploitation.
Through the implementation of Community Support Program (CSP) of the Brigade, the unit sustain its collaborations and coordination to the local government unit of Lake Sebu and other concerned government agencies from the province of South Cotabato such as NCIP; DOST; TESDA; DSWD; PNP; BFP; and IPMR, pushing the said IPYLS activity as one of the measures and intervention to continue educate and save the IP from joining the armed movement.
“There is a need to sustain our collaboration and efforts involving the different agencies, local government and security sectors in order to prevent the CTG’s encroachment and radicalization among IP youths”, Hon. Floro Gandam, the municipal mayor of Lake Sebu said.
Meanwhile, the commander of 601st Infantry Brigade, Brig. Gen. Roy Galido stressed that the Brigade will continue its mandates in its area of responsibility through institutionalized whole-of-nation approach mechanism in obtaining exclusive and viable peace, providing the whole province an effective solution against communist terrorist. ###
