Marcos Jr. kailangang sagutin ang mga petisyon laban sa kanyang kandidatura hanggang Nobyembre 22 – Comelec

Binigyan nang sapat na panahon ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) si presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. upang sagutin ang mga petisyon laban sa kanyang paghain ng certificate of candidacy (COC).

Sinabi ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez, ang Comelec Second Division ay binibigyan nila ng pagkakataon ang dating senador na hanggang Nobyembre 22 para sagutin ang petisyon laban sa kanya.

“Getting word that COMELEC 2nd Div just now issued an extension in the cancellation case against former Senator Marcos. 5 days. But since the 5th day falls on a Sunday, last day is actually 22 Nov,” saad ni Jimenez sa Twitter post nito.

Sinabi pa ni Jimenez na hindi bababa sa limang petisyon ang nai-file sa Comelec sa panawagang kanselahin ang kandidatura ni Marcos Jr., batay sa diumano’y pang-aabuso nito matapos niyang ipahayag na hindi siya nahatulan ng parusa o penalty of perpetual disqualification from public office.

Ang mga petitioner kasama ang human rights advocates and Martial Law survivors sinasabing nagsinungaling si Marcos Jr., dahil siya ay nahatulan ng four counts of violating the Tax Code by the Court of Appeals dahil sa kanyang kabiguan sa income tax returns mula 1982 hanggang 1985.

Sa ilalim ng Tax Code, ang pagkakasala na ginawa ng isang public official, kakaharapin nito ang parusa ng perpetual disqualification sa pampublikong opisina.

Aniya, pag-uusapan ang naturang petisyon sa Nobyembre 26.
