DPWH naglatag ng two-storey multi-purpose building para sa mga katutubong–tribo sa Maasim, Sarangani


SARANGANI (Jan. 18, 2022) –– Ipinagmamalaki ngayon ng mga miyembro ng Indigenous People (IP) community sa bayan ng Maasim sa probinsya ng Sarangani ang nakatayong two–storey multi–purpose building na ipinatayo ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para sa kanila.

Ayon sa report ng DPWH Region XII na pinoste nito sa kanyang opisyal na Facebook account, ang gusali ay magsisilbing “tribal hall” at “training center” ng mga Indigenous People sa nasabing bayan.

“The 248.88 square meter Kesfala Hall will provide significant venue for IPs to exercise customary laws embedded in their culture and values, acceptable standard of behavior and continuous preservation of beliefs and traditions while actively enforce their laws to achieve peaceful and harmonious living in the community,” sabi ng nasabing ahensya.

Ayon sa DPWH Region XII, ang nasabing proyekto ay pinondohan sa ilalim ng 2021 General Appropriations Act (or GAA).

Para naman sa mga Indigenous People sa Maasim, ang paglatag ng ganong proyekto para sa kanila ay isang kongkretong pagpapakita ng patuloy na suporta at pagrespeto ng gobyerno sa pagsusulong at pag–preserba ng kanilang mga paniniwala, mga tradisyon at mga kultura.

Nagpasalamat naman ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Maasim sa nasabing inisyatibo ng DPWH–Sarangani District Engineering Office. ###
