(February 16, 2022) — UP (University of the Philippines) brilliant Professor Clarita Carlos asked the four (4) presidential bets who attended the “live” SMNI Presidential Debate 2022 yesterday evening.

Her (Prof. Carlos) question was: If the QUAD is to become a collective security alliance, you as a chief architect of our country’s foreign policy, are you going to make the Philippines as a member of the QUAD? Why? and why not?

By the way, according to Google, a global search engine, QUAD is a “diplomatic network of four countries committed to supporting an open and resilient region.”

It reportedly stands for “Quadrilateral Security Dialogue” and has four nations — USA, India, Australia, and Japan.

On four of them, only former Secretary (National Defense) Norberto Gonzales said “yes,” clearly indicating that the Philippines should join with the global or regional security arrangement.

For Secretary Gonzalez, if there is such agreement, the country should go (in) with it.

Gonzalez is running for president under the Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas. ###
