Hinihikayat ng Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa iba’t ibang bansa na samantalahin ang isang buwang overseas absentee voting (OAV) sa tamang pagboto na kasalukuyang isinasagawa ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) kaugnay ng Mayo 9 para sa national at local elections.

“We, at CBCP ECMI and Stella Maris, encourage our dear OFWs in their free time and make the best effort to go and vote from this April 10-May 9 in their respective embassies and consular offices. Always remember mayroon kayong K. Your vote is your Karapatan. Your vote is your Katungkulan. And your vote is your kinabukasan,” ito ang panawagan na ibinalangkas ni Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos, vice chairman ng CBCP – Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People sa panayam ng church-run Radio Veritas nitong Lunes Santo.

“So you go out and vote, bear in mind your situation as OFWs. Vote for those who protect you from inhuman treatment and unjust practices; those who promote your rights and dignity; those who prosecute those who victimized you,” ani Obispo.

#RBM
