DTI-Laguna conducts Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Training in Famy

Famy, Laguna – Department of Trade and Industry – Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (DTI-PPG) is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises, with priority in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including health disasters such as pandemics, and individuals and enterprises in National Capital Region (NCR) who have voluntarily moved to identified rural areas under the Balik Probinsya Program for the purpose of establishing or relocating an enterprise.

On April 20, 2022, at the Municipal Covered Court (Plaza), Famy, Laguna, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office held the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program and Services Orientation, Entrepreneurial Training-Seminar, and Consumer Education cum SMERA on Setting-up a Business. PPG Support Staff Joemarie Valizado led the invocation at the start of the program. Famy Municipal Mayor Hon. Gertrudes Andaya welcomed the participants which included twenty-six (26) PPG beneficiaries and several LGU personnel. She also conveyed her gratitude to the DTI-Laguna team for extending the program to her constituents.

Following that, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Christian Ted Tungohan welcomed the attendees and LGU representatives and gave his introductory remarks. He also mentioned the overview of the PPG Program and entrepreneurial training. In addition, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Josephine Ballesteros provided an overview of DTI Programs and Services, emphasizing the MSME development programs that recipients may be eligible for in the future.

Ms. Valizado, then, went on to discuss the DTI-PPG outlining its objectives, eligibility, program coverage, and assistance procedures. Ms. Valizado also talked about how to start a business and provided some suggestions and guidance on how to use social media to reach out to their target customers and sell their products/services.

The eight (😎 Consumer Rights and five (5) Consumer Responsibilities were then explained by STIDS Tungohan, who encouraged the participants to always use them when making a purchase. Ms. Valizado later taught the PPG beneficiaries how to create a Simplified Action Plan (SAP). As a result, they learned how much money they make in a month, and some of them discovered that they are losing money. They were advised to seek guidance from a Negosyo Center near them in order to practice proper pricing and costing. Sixteen (16) applications for business name registration were processed before the activity ended.

Overall, the livelihood and entrepreneurship program, which included thirteen (13) barangays, was successfully conducted. #DTI
