Comeback of Student-Artists in the Theater Scene with Fusion of Arts and Sciences, and Pop Culture
Sining Labinsiyam—AB Theater Arts students Batch 119 of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, in collaboration with one of the most prominent playwrights in the Philippine Theater, Dr. Layeta Bucoy, presents Orgullo Compound. This play is directed by Ms. Jenny Logico-Cruz with set design by Mr. Tuxqs Rustaquio.
Orgullo Compound is a perceptive study of one’s inability to change and adapt beyond one’s status quo. The characters’ personal and academic lives show parallelism on how they approach their situation, and so as the story unfolds, the residents seek answers to their decaying bond.
This production represents the characters’ recurring issues caused by emotional baggage. It focuses on the long-term effect of childhood traumas engendered by abusive and unfair treatment in one’s behavior.
Catch Teofie and Janus Orgullo, together with Zosi and the rest of the compound residents as we open the Orgullo Compound to everyone. The show will be streamed from July 29, 2022 to August 12, 2022 via Ticket2Me.net.
