Ph bet wins Miss United Continents 2022

Joanna Camelle Mercado from the Philippines bagged the title, Miss United Continents 2022 on August 6,2022 (August 7 in PH time)  in Portoviejo, Ecuador. 

In a Facebook post, Mercado  thanked all people who supported her in the journey. 

“In behalf of Queen C, we Team Camelleion would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all who supported us all the way. Designers, Makeup and Hair Stylist, Photographers, Pageant Analyst, Media, Team Pampanga, and of course Miss United Continents Philippines Organization.DAKAL PUNG SALAMAT!!!” Mercado wrote.

Mercado, 26, BS Secondary Education graduate from Bataan Peninsula State University, bested 30 delegates from other countries.

Runners up of the pageant are on this list: 

1st Runner-up – Ivanova Velez (Ecuador)

2nd Runner-up – Karen Ortiz (Colombia)

3rd Runner-up – Liz Arbelaez (Venezuela)

4th Runner-up – Gretha Matiauda (Paraguay)

5th Runner-up – Ayram Ortiz (Mexico)

Camelle  is the second Filipina to win the pageant following Miss United Continents 2016 Jeslyn Santos. 

Mercado is not new to pageantry as she already competed to various local pageants such as Miss World Philippines,Miss Mandaluyong 2017, and Mutya ng Kapampangan 2016.**
