The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo, welcomed the members of the Ayala Foundation Incorporated during a courtesy meeting on October 5, at the DSWD Central Office, to discuss possible partnership and engagement in the future.

The DSWD and the foundation shared their commitments to the timely delivery of social protection programs and services to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors, as well as to provide assistance to Filipinos during disasters and other crises.

In his message, Secretary Tulfo recognized the contributions of the Ayala Foundation in the attainment of the country’s development goals, particularly in their commitment to making an improvement in the lives of Filipinos.

“We, in the government, have always acknowledged the significant roles of the private sector in nation-building. We recognize that the whole of nation approach is vital in achieving the aspiration of empowering the poor for an improved level of well-being,” the Secretary added.

Meanwhile, Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan assured the DSWD that the foundation will continue to provide support and assistance to Filipinos in difficult times.

“The Ayala Foundation has always been trying to align and will continuously align with DSWD initiatives. We firmly believe that partnering with our government, national and local levels, will be the best and proper way to be able to augment a lot of the requirements of our very own people,” President Maranan said.

The DSWD will continue to forge partnerships with the private sector in pursuit of protecting and promoting the well-being of Filipinos. ###
