
BSP CONTINUES TO SAFEGUARD PRICE STABILTY AMID CHALLENGING TIMES
In various meetings held in Washington, D.C., USA, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe M. Medalla (in photo, center) said that the BSP is focused on bringing inflation back to a target-consistent path, in line with its core mandate of price stability. The meetings were held at the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) Annual Meetings. During the discussions, the country’s top economic managers presented key reforms, policies, and programs intended to propel the Philippine economy toward a robust growth path.
A lower global growth outlook and elevated inflation were among the key issues discussed during the sessions. Daway-Ducanes, Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, Finance Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel G. Romualdez, Former US Ambassador to the Philippines John D. Negroponte, (second row, left to right) Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Atty. Olma Inocentes, and US-Philippines Society Executive Director Hank Hendrickson.
Attending the meetings were private companies, consultancy firms, business chambers, and government agencies in Washington, D.C.. The Governor also added that the BSP is committed to the rollout of financial digitalization initiatives to benefit more Filipinos. ##
