PBBM witnesses DSWD cash aid payout in Bacolod City

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. joins the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the special payout of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program for the beneficiaries in Bacolod City on October 23.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. witnessed the distribution of assistance to various sectors in Bacolod City during a convergence activity that was participated in by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Sunday, October 23.

Through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the DSWD, some 100 clients were served and provided with Php 5,000 cash assistance each which can be used for medical, funeral, burial, and transportation expenses, among others.

“Habang nangangailangan ang taong-bayan ng tulong, gagawin ng gobyerno lahat para kahit papaano ay makatulong (Until the people need help, the government will do everything to assist in any way),” President Marcos said during his address to the beneficiaries.

The President was joined by DSWD Assistant Secretary for Visayas Affairs Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, DSWD Field Office VI Regional Director Carmelo Nochete, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Arwin Razo, and Crisis Intervention Section Head Lisa Camacho during the distribution of aid to individuals in crisis.

The activity, which was initiated by the Department of Agriculture, aimed to provide assistance to various sectors affected by the increase in fuel prices and basic commodities. ###
