‘Pinas at Vietnam, nagkasundo na palakasin ang intel sharing sa gitna nang territorial claims sa karagatan

COMBODIA — Nagkasundo si Panguong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh nitong Huwebes [November 10], na palakasin ang kooperasyon ng intelligence and strategies sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Vietnam sa gitna nang lumalaking kontrol ng Beijing sa South China Sea.

Matapos ang bilateral talks nina Marcos at Chinh sa ginanap na Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit sa Cambodia upang higit pang mapahusay ang ugnayan ng bawat bansa sa iba’t ibang larangan tulad ng defense, trade, investment, agriculture at maritime security.

Ayon pa kay Marcos na magiging kapaki-pakinabang ang patuloy na mga diyalogo sa pagharap sa mga alalahanin gaya sa karagatan.

Bukod sa Pilipinas at China, may terrritorial claims din ang bansang Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, at Brunei sa pinag-aagawang karagatan.

“The position that the Philippines takes is that we have no territorial conflict with China. What we have [is] China claiming territory that belongs to the Philippines,” saad ni Marcos sa isang interbyu sa New York City noong September.

“This is the position we take, and with our American partners, we have promoted that position. We have also made it clear to our friends in Beijing that this is the way we feel about it,” dagdag ni Marcos.
