Marcos, inaasahang matatalakay ang Food Security and Energy sa APEC Summit 2022

BANGKOK, Thailand — Lumapag na nitong Miyerkules ng gabi [November 16] si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Thailand kung saan ay nakatakda ang diskusyon ng Pangulo kasama ang iba pang economic and business leaders ng Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) nations ang mga usaping may kinalaman sa food security and energy.

Dumating si Marcos sa Don Mueng Internationl Airport bandang alas 5:00 ng hapon (6 p.m dito sa Pilipinas, lulan ng flight PR001).

Kasama ng Pangulo ang kanyang misis na si First lady Louise Araneta-Marcos  at ang Philippine delegation para sa apat na araw na pagbisita sa kauna-unahang pagpupulong ng Pangulo kasama ang mga APEC Economic Leaders sa Thailand.

Sinabi ng Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) na inaasahan ng Pangulo na makakaharap nila si King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua at si Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana na host ng APEC leaders and spouses.

 

“The President will be engaging with other leaders on how to tackle food and energy security and the economic inclusion of the country’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), among others,” pahayag ng OPS.

 

Sa huling datos na ipinakita ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ang 1.080 million businesses na nag-ooperate sa bansa nitong 2021, 99.58% dito ay kabilang sa MSMEs.

 

Ito ay kinabibilangan ng 978,612 o 90.54% micro enterprises, 93,230 o 8063% small, 4,437 medium, at 4,531 o 0.42% large.

 

“The Philippine leader also looks forward to unlocking economic potential, digitalizing the country’s participation in the digital economy, pushing sustainable development, as well as addressing the climate change crisis,” saad ng OPS.

Inaasahan naman ni Marcos na magkakaroon ng six bilateral meetings sa naturang pagpupulong nito, kung saan ay bibitbitin ng pangulo ang pangarap na matamo ang “peaceful and prosperous” Asia Pacific region.

 

Samantala, kinabibilangan ng 21 members ang summit, ito ay ang mga bansang; Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United States, at Vietnam. #RBM
