Speaking before the DTI employees and officials during the flag raising ceremony, Pascual also took the opportunity to thank the employees and acknowledge their invaluable contribution to nation-building and in the advancement of an inclusive economic development.

The Great Place to Work Certification by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) is a global authority on workplace culture.

Following the said award, Secretary Pascual emphasized and reflected on the collective efforts of the DTI and its leaders, as well as best practices employed in fostering a healthy work environment for its employees and ensuring that the agency remains a psychologically safe space for all.

In his message, Secretary Pascual said, “Notably, our DTI is the first government agency to be honored with this certification, a true testament to our collective efforts, the unity of our purpose, and the strength of our resolve. We are not just participants in this journey. We are pioneers!”

Since 2010, DTI has been conducting an Employee Engagement survey as an opportunity to examine the level of engagement or motivation of their employees. In 2022,  the Department refocused its organizational assessment through the employee experience survey based on GPTW’s Trust Index Model that focuses on credibility, camaraderie, fairness, respect, and pride—the linchpins of a great, high-trust workplace. The said survey is a basis for the GPTW Certification that recognizes organizations that create an outstanding employee experience. This certification has become a globally recognized and research-backed verification of a great employee experience.

Since its founding in 1992, GPTW has surveyed more than 100 million employees worldwide in more than 60 countries, including those on the 100 Best Companies to Work For list published annually by Fortune.  Their benchmark data is among the best measure in quantifying organizational culture and overall employee experience.

“More than a certificate, it is a reflection of where we stand, how we feel, and what we aspire for our DTI. As we celebrate this milestone, let us commit to forge ahead, making the DTI an even more engaging and nurturing workplace,” Secretary Pascual added.

In closing, Secretary Pascual reiterated that, “We are here at the dawn of a new era of greater possibilities. As we revel in our achievements, let us not forget our purpose and duties as public servants. Our commitment to excellence, our passion for work, and our dedication to our mission. We must continue this to shine brighter each day.”

The ceremony was also attended by other DTI officials such as Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Ana Carolina P. Sanchez, Competitiveness and Innovation Group Undersecretary Rafaelita M. Aldaba, and Management Services Group Undersecretary Ireneo V. Vizmonte. END.
