Alum Night 2023 : Celebrating the decades of continuous learning and the valuable and distinct effort of its founder

On the evening of June 15, 2023 , Holiday Inn Hotel Makati turned festive as it welcomed over a hundred guests, majority of whom are doctors who all looked youthful and vibrant as they come together for an event that honors their value as professionals.

Continuing her father’s legacy, Dr. Angela Pineda, President of Dermclinic , delivered a very inspiring speech and shared how her late father envisioned it to be the leading “Dermatology Training Institution” in the Philippines. After training and developing over 300 dermatologists, Dr. Angela believes that her father’s vision is now a reality.

The Dermatological Institute Foundation of the Philippines (DIFP) organized a get-together event dubbed AlumNight. Aside from the usual fun and glamour, the event also highlighted the commendable contribution of its founder, Dr. Vinson B. Pineda. DIFP was established in 1976 as one of the prestigious training institutions for Dermatology in the Philippines. His idea of establishing it came after he had seen the desire of many aspiring doctors to be trained, mentored and equipped to be able to provide advanced medical, aesthetic and surgical training in Dermatology. The institute not only produced excellent skin doctors and also developed a wide network of professionals who have successfully made their contributions in the advancements of Dermatology over the decades.

After more than forty decades in the industry, this organization has trained over three hundred doctors in the field of Dermatology and envisions to continue providing world-class training in the coming years. Currently, Dr. Angela Pineda, DIFP’s newly appointed President enthusiastically continues what her father has started. Together with her very own team of doctors, they have adapted to the new normal by providing a hybrid learning program and interactive workshops to equip the next generation of specialists who will carry on this vision. In addition to this, they will be continuously strengthening their Dermatology community in order to provide excellent and superior patient care for all their patients not only in their individual clinics but also in participating in civic dermatologic projects around the country.

DIFP is just one of the many organizations that Dr. Vinson Pineda has established. And by continuously commemorating his dedication and excellence in helping the people, his legacy as a doctor, businessman and community-building advocate will remain to be in the hearts of those he had helped.

On the much brighter side, the party continues!
