Making it happen in the healthcare industry: BOI shares insights in a panel discussion on the PH as Center of Excellence in Clinical Trials

TAGUIG CITY – The Board of Investments (BOI) joined the healthcare industry stakeholders in the Expert Panel Discussion about the Philippines as Center of Excellence in Clinical Trials held in Bonifacio Global City on Oct. 6, 2023.

The discussion, organized by the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP), was aligned with the goals set by the Integrated Roadmap of the Philippine Pharmaceuticals Industry (IRPPI). In addition, the event called for the collective efforts of the healthcare industry, academe, government representatives, and foreign economic partners to address the prevailing concerns in the conduct of clinical trials in the country through access to information, innovation, capacity building, and improved business environment in order to achieve the vision of making the Philippines a Center of Excellence in Clinical Trials.

Notably, partners from the British and Swedish Embassy expressed their full support for the initiative during the program. Participants included representatives from local and multinational pharmaceutical companies, healthcare facilities, research organizations, academe, and the government.

Moreover, the BOI co-organized the event with the University of the Philippines-Manila (UPM) National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD). END
