Island of Hope brings together Innovators from Island and Archipelagic States

Island Innovation is the official Programme Partner for the Island of Hope stage, taking place between the 4-8th December 2023. Five days action-packed programme bringing together key actors from Small Island States, climate vulnerable regions, donors, investors, and the private sector. This immersive event space will be a catalyst to accelerate climate adaptation and resilience through capacity building, problem-solving, and matchmaking to secure a Sustainable Future for islands at COP28.

As one ambassador, Gillian amplifies her message of hope, “The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”

Jyothi Gandhi Mumbai, India Island Ambassador is hopeful for the future, ‘The best way to predict the future is to create it together.” As echoed, “Our youths are the leaders of tomorrow and protectors of our democracy and our way of life.” By Jason Kaut from Papua New Guinea.

In addition, “As island ambassadors, we raise our voices to ensure that the collective wisdom and experiences of our communities are heard on the global stage,” Joseph HS Cadogan contributed.“ Alone we are weak, together we are strong ”. The Island Voices @COP28, hosted by Island Innovation, creates a virtual space to share key insights and developments related to remote, rural and island communities during the 28th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP28). Members of our team will be on the ground in Dubai to attend the various events happening and report on the highlights.

Registrants will receive a daily bulletin with news, highlights and relevant content related to island communities, besides access to interviews with stakeholders at COP28 and live updates from our team on the ground. Last year, this platform attracted over 5,000 registrants from islands all over the globe.
