Mayor and his wife partner for relief efforts in earthquake and virus pandemic

SENATOR NINOY AQUINO (SNA), Sultan Kudarat –– Earthquake or virus pandemic, both of them signed-up for the job.

In the photo, taken a year ago, showed Mayor Randy Ecija Jr. and his wife, Erna Dapiton Ecija, packing relief goods for the 1,000 families affected by the earthquake in North Cotabato province last year.

It received an abundance of “good words” from the netizens, praising them for their “kind-hearted acts.”

Today, the couple are still packing relief goods not for the earthquake victims but for their “kababayans” whose hearts were shattered by the threats of the deadly COVID-19 disease that killed thousands of people and affected millions of families globally.

For Mayor Ecija and wife Erna, the fight against COVID-19 is still on. They never knew when it would end. But they are prepared to fight it together. (RASHID RH. BAJO)
