Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! An official of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health told in an interview that the explosion was massive enough to take the lives of more than 140 afghan evacuees who were ready to flee the conflict zone after the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan on August 15, 2021. It does not include the 200 wounded Afghan residents who were later taken into the hospital for further medical treatment.
The Pentagon officials later confirmed that an ISIS suicide bomber plotted the deadly blast. This suicide bomber was identified as a member of the militant group, ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan Province). According to the reports, the Taliban group and ISIS K (Islamic State Khorasan Province) have been in dispute for many years after Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour demanded in 2015 that, ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi must halt the recruitment of Taliban loyalists.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stated in his recent interview that the group “strongly condemns” the bombing strike at Kabul airport, which he said, “took place in an area where US forces are responsible for security.”
He further reiterated that the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in order to establish dominance against occupation forces. “We were fighting against foreign occupiers and their puppet regime”. The attacked on the Kabul airport and the death of the 13 U.S officers were the primary subjects of U.S President Joe Biden’s national address from the White House. He also promised to track down the terrorist who planted the bomb.
“We will not be deterred by terrorists, we will not let them stop our mission. We will continue the evacuation“ He added. “We will rescue Americans, we will get our Afghan allies, and the mission will go on America will not be intimated.” ###
