Inaasahang darating sa bansa ang nasa 391,000 doses ng bivalent Covid-19 vaccine sa susunod na linggo, ayon sa anunsyo ng Department of Health (DOH) nitong Martes, Mayo 16.

Sa isang media forum nitong Martes, sinabi ni DOH officer-in-charge Rosario Signh-Vergeire na ang pagtanggal ng World Health Organization (WHO) sa Covid-19 global health emergency ay hindi nakakaapekto sa pagbili ng bansa ng bakuna.

“Natapos na natin lahat ng kailangang isumite. Nagbigay naman ng commitment ang bansang magbibigay sa atin that by next week we will receive it already,” ani Vergeire.

Pinabulaanan ni Vergeire ang mga kumakalat na pahayag na sinasadyang ipagpaliban ng DOH ang pagbili ng bivalent Covid-19 jabs, aniya, nakikipag-ugnayan sila sa vaccine manufacturers mula pa noong Agosto 2022.

“Nagkataon lang na kahit dire-diretso ang negosasyon na ito ay nagkaroon ng obstacle o roadblock kasi nalift ang state of calamity at naapektuhan ang authority natin to procure bivalent vaccine,” aniya.

“Walang katotohanan na nag delay ang DOH,” dagdag pa ni Vergeire. ##
