Mahigit 1 milyong Pinoy makatatanggap na ng National ID cards

MANILA, Philippines — Mahigit 1 million national ID cards ang una nang naimprenta ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas at handa na itong ipadala sa Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost), ang opisyal na delivery partner ng Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

Ayon kay National statistician Dennis Mapa, nasa 1.022 million national ID cards ang handa nang ipadala sa PHLPost.

Aniya, bilang project implementor ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ay patuloy ang kanilang rollout sa ikatlo at huling hakbang para sa national ID system, na kinabibilangan sa pag-isyu ng PhilSys number at paghahatid ng physical ID cards sa mga nakapag-rehistro na.

“This is yet another huge step forward for the PhilSys. We are also expecting an increase in the cards we will release and deliver in the coming weeks as we ramp up our operations,” saad ni Mapa.

Ang PHLPost ang naghahatid ng national ID cards kada araw, sa pagtatala, nasa 320,000 registrants na ang nakatanggap nito.

Pinapaalalahanan naman ang mga Registrants na ingatan ang nakapaloob na liham kalakip ang ID receipt dahil ito ay naglalaman ng confidential information.

Para maprotektahan ang PhilSys number sa pag-transact, kailangan lamang gamitin ang PhilSys Card Number, na naka-imprenta sa harap na bahagi ng ID card.

Hinimok naman ng PSA ang government agencies at private establishments na kilalanin ang paggamit ng national ID cards bilang valid proof ng pagkakakilanlan ng indibidwal sa bawat transaksyon na gagawin.

Sa pakikipagtulungan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga community establishments gaya ng mga mall ay maaring magparehistro para sa mas maraming Pilipino na makakuha rin ng naturang ID.

Inaasahan na 70 million ang makakapag-rehistro bago matapos ang taon. At bago matapos naman ang taong 2022, 92 million na mga Pilipino ang inaasahang makakapag-rehistro sa PhilSys.
