Panawagan ni QC Mayor Belmonte sa siklistang biktima ng road rage: 'Lumantad ka at mag-file ng kaso laban sa dating pulis'

Nananawagan ngayon si Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte sa siklista na naging biktima ng road range incident na lumantad at kasuhan ang suspek na dating pulis matapos kasahan ng baril at saktan noong Agosto 8.

Kasunod ito ng pagsasa-publiko ng suspek na si Wilfredo Gonzales na umano’y nagkaayos na sila ng biktima.

“We are appealing to the complainant to come forward so that Willy Gonzalez, whom I consider a menace to society, is held accountable. We want to assure the cyclist that we will extend legal assistance, as well as put him and his family in our protection, so that justice is served. I will not allow this case to be whitewashed. Maaaring natatakot ang biktima na humarap dahil ang nakatapat niya ay taga-gobyerno. Nais nating bigyang-diin na walang puwang ang karahasan sa ating lungsod,” pahayag ng alkalde sa social media post ng QC governnment nitong Lunes, Agosto 28.

Kaugnay nito, humarap sa press conference nitong Linggo [Agosto 27] si Gonzale sa QC Police District headquarters sa Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village sa tulong ni QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III matapos ang kanyang pagsuko.

Hindi na sana ito mauungkat pa bagama’t kumalat sa social media ang pagmumura, pananakit at pagkasa ng baril ni Gonzales sa biktima na nakasagi sa kaniyang kotse nang pumasok ito sa bicycle lane na eksklusibo lamang sa mga nagbibisikleta.

“This culture of impunity is not acceptable in QC and I have a duty and responsibility to maintain peace and order in our city and to send a strong message that acts such as those committed shall not be tolerated and that he must be held accountable,” pahayag pa ng alkalde.

Posibleng maharap sa patung-patong na kaso si Gonzales kung sakaling lumantad at magsampa ng kaso ang biktima, ayon na rin sa Facebook post ng city government. #
