Iprinisenta ng pamunuan ng Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), ang private operator ng Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) ang isang proof of concept gamit ang quick response o QR ticketing project katuwang ang AF Payments Inc (AFPI) sa pamunuan ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at ng Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), nitong huwebes, Nobyembre 11.

Inihayag ng LRMC na ang inisyatibo na ito ay kanilang sinusuportahan ang company’s digitalization strategy upang mapalawig pa ang kanilang “Tap2Ride” contactless commuting campaign sa mas ligtas at convenient na paggamit nito ng mga komyuter.

Aniya, kapag ang proyketong ito ay maaprubahan, mas mapapabilis ng QR tickets ang pagsakay-pagbaba ng mga gumagamit ng Single Journey tickets (SJTs) at ito ay maari ring mabili gamit ang mobile apps sa pamamagitan ng BPI Mobile, PayMaya, at GCash kung saan ay mata-track din ng mga komyuter ang mga detalye ng kanilag pagsakay-pagbaba at ang fare amount na kanilang nagamit.

Ang nasabing QR tickets ay mai-scan via QR acceptance terminals na naka-install sa mga piling entry at exit gates ng LRT1 stations, ayon sa pamunuan ng LRMC.

Target ng pamunuan na maisakatuparan ang nasabing proyektong ito sa first quarter ng 2022. #DM
